Primary Medical Conditions: Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and Degenerative Disk Disease (DDD)
Hello, I have been married for 17 years, I have one child (daughter), and 1 grandson. I was a plasterer for approximately 17 years. I then changed fields and became a soil technician for approximately 12 years. Unfortunately due to my illness I had to leave that job. I also loved playing softball, four wheeling, and playing with the kids. I no longer play softball, but I still try to four wheel, and play with the kids but it is very limited and here I am today.
I have been living with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome for about 12 years now. It is a malfunction of the sympathetic nervous system (misfire of nerves). It causes burning, numb spots, hyper sensitivity and pain. I also have DDD (degenerative disk disease) which causes lower back pain.
I use the following medications:
- Oxycodone 150 mg daily
- Methadone 40 mg daily – pain medication
- I also get trigger point injection
- My alternative medication is marijuana
I have not replaced but reduced the intake of my medication. I have taken in a high CBD during the severe nerve spasms and the spasm will subside or stop for awhile.
About 30 year ago I started smoking cannabis. On average I use about 1 ounce a week, after 12 pm. and throughout the day as needed for the spasms and back pain. Generally I smoke joints, and the newly founded hash pen, (I love this thing) and some edibles.
