My friends call me Rambo. It’s a silly nickname that conjures up imagines that don’t very accurately describe me. For better or worse, it stuck; so that’s what you can call me. The story behind the nickname dates back to 10th grade in a small biology classroom in the Northern California hills and a conversation about hunting deer with knives. That tale can wait for another time. The story behind the origins of Marijuana Growers HQ is bit more relevant.Â
I have always imagined one day I might like to teach high school civics or history and do my little bit to leave a positive impression on young minds. I’ve always believed we should each do our little part to help make this a better world. As fate would have it, the shenanigans of my youth would never allow me to teach in the traditional sense.
It turns out that fate didn’t know it was dealing with a guy whose mind is stuck in problem-solving gear 25 hours a day. Teaching a pack of hormone-riddled, pimple-faced cretins to be good citizens or learn from the lessons of history may no longer be in my future, but thanks to the World Wide Web there is nothing stopping me from sharing my knowledge. Looking back, the best teachers may not have been the top experts in their field but were passionate about their subjects and sharing what they knew. I pride myself in knowing a little bit about a lot of things, but there is one topic I know a whole hell of a lot about, and that is how to grow marijuana.
I won’t ever claim to be a cannabis expert. There are a lot of people who know more about growing marijuana then I do. I don’t have all the answers or work in a laboratory filled with mad cannabis scientists. What I do have is 15 years of experience growing marijuana indoors and outdoors. Additionally, I have significant experience with the finer points of growing marijuana in greenhouses and light deprivation houses. I’ve built dozens of grow rooms and been invited to visit hundreds of others. I’ve been in gardens with thousands of plants stretching over acres and acres and indoor gardens that filled warehouses. I’ve seen almost every imaginable kind of hydroponic system in action and tried most of them myself. I know hundreds of growers and can draw on their years of experience, successes and failures.
Along the way I have made some mistakes, at times, some pretty big ones. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way, but hopefully I can help you to avoid these same mistakes. My experiences bring me to where I am today, a farmer at heart and in practice a teacher.
My hope is that Marijuana Growers HQ will be a valuable resource not only for beginners growing marijuana for personal use, but also a forum for new ideas and techniques that will benefit even professional marijuana growers who cultivate the highest quality medicinal cannabis for the sickest patients.
